We’re stoked to have been part of this year’s Carp to Croc, an amazing initiative that turns invasive carp into food for Elvis! 🐊

Central Coast Mayor and absolute legend, Lawrie McKinna, joined us to feed Elvis the first carp of the season.

Carp are a major problem in our local waterways, and this year 456 carp were caught, with 150 donated to us to help feed Australia’s crankiest crocodile. 🐟
A massive thank you to @centralcoastcouncil & @BCFaustralia for making this come together.

Safe to say, Elvis is pretty thrilled. With plenty of carp coming his way, he’s more than ready to tuck in!

Chilli is having puppies!! 😍😍

An ultrasound confirmed she is carrying at least four puppies, with a chance there may be a fifth hiding away. You can even see the tiny little spines of her growing puppies on the X-ray. Our team has been busy preparing her den and keeping a close eye on her as we expext the puppies in a few weeks!

The soon to be puppies already have new homes lined up for when the time is right. Once they are ready to be independent from mum, and are big and strong enough to be on their own, they will head off to their next exciting chapter.

But for now, we are officially on puppy watch. 🐾

$400 raised for endangered wildlife! 👏

Every year, our zoo keeper Cam organises the Australian Reptile Park’s footy tipping competition, with all money raised going straight to our sister charity organisation, @Aussieark to help save endangered Aussie wildlife. This year Cam’s has raised $400!!
He’s been part of the Park family for a long time, always has a smile on his face, and somehow still finds the time each year to rally everyone together for a bit of friendly footy rivalry for a great cause.

What a legend, thanks for everything you do Cam! 💚

When you catch 53 alligators on a random Tuesday 🤷‍♂️

This week our team conducted some critical pre-winter health checks on ALL 53 of our adult American Alligators in our lagoon.
Each gator was caught, checked, tagged and released, with only 4 showing more serious injuries that will need to be monitored.

During winter Alligators go into a brumation period, where their body slows down, and injuries can get worse if not treated. Luckily, our gators are looking good and ready for the chill winter they deserve 💪

This might be the prettiest a spider can get ✨

This stunning spider is a Golden Orb Weaver, known for building large, strong orb webs with a beautiful golden sheen. Their webs are usually suspended between trees and shrubs, perfectly placed where insects are likely to fly through.

You can see this one on the right hand side, walking towards the Weigel Venom Centre. Bonus points if the sun is shining through the web ✨
