School Excursions to the Australian Reptile Park
Dear Teachers,
Please ensure you read the following information before your visit to the Australian Reptile Park for a School Excursion.
Ratio for teacher/ parent attendance:
- For Pre-School and Kindergarten, the ratio of adults to children is 1:5.
- For Years 1-6, a ratio of 1:8 is accepted.
If additional parents would like to attend (meaning outside the above outline ratio amount), they will be charged a discounted rate of $41 (regular gate entry is $46). We encourage any additional parents/guardians attending on the day to pay the school prior to the visit – not at Reception on the day of the booking.
Payment
Please note that school bookings must be paid in one lump sum – the school must provide the PO Number to accounts@reptilepark.com.au along with the booking date for further reference. It is the responsibility of the booking party to amend the purchase order as per the final invoice, if necessary.
COVID-Safe Excursions

In addition to general excursion rules as outlined below, school students and representatives must adhere to the following regulations when visiting the Australian Reptile Park for a school excursion. By visiting the Australian Reptile Park for an excursion, the school and its representatives are agreeing to the following:
- Schools visiting the Australian Reptile Park for a school excursion must have their own COVID-Safe plan in place. It is the school representative/teacher’s responsibility to follow these procedures for out of school excursions.
- The head teacher in charge of the excursion must sign-in to Service NSW upon arrival. They will be the contact for the group for any contact tracing if necessary.
- Whilst on-site at ARP, school students and adults must remain within their own groups and must not interact with groups from other schools.
- Student/adult ratios must be strictly adhered to. For every so many children, an adult (either teacher, parent or guardian) is allowed in free of charge, the ratios are as follows:
- Preschool & Kindergarten – 1:5 (1 adult for every 5 children)
- Years 1-6 – 1:8 (1 adult for every 8 children)
Excursion Rules

Please note that disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated, and students need to follow directions at all times. Unruly students will be removed from the park and their guardian will be called to pick them up. There will be no refund or discount on activities not completed due to poor behaviour, which is judged at the Reptile Park Management’s discretion. Cancellations need to be given 48 hours’ notice, in which the group will be re-booked onto another day. Cancellations without a given 48 hours’ notice will not be refunded or re-booked. Please call reception on 02 4340 1022 to make any changes or for further information.
ALL STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE TO THEIR TEACHER A SIGNED PERMISSION NOTE SIGNED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN. THE ONUS IS PLACED ON THE SCHOOL / COMPANY TO ENSURE THIS REQUIREMENT IS MET.

Students must not tap on glass while in the Lost World of Reptiles or Spider World.
Noise must be kept to a minimum whenever inside, this is so that we do not scare the animals.
Students are asked not to chase any free roaming animals, pull their tails or do anything else that may upset or distress the animals.
Do not reach over any fences, glass or walls. This could lead to injury. Animals are in there for a reason, they can bite!
Students must at all times abide by the park rules and listen to their group leaders/teachers and any Reptile Park staff member.
Suitable clothing and footwear should be worn. All attending the park should dress for the elements, e.g. wet weather. Teachers should check the weather before their visit the park.
